“Why are you Sunni and not Shi’a?”
Being a convert myself, I did investigate for years, both Islaam and other religions. And that investigation never stops.
Based on what i’ve seen, from following the Qur’aan to using reliable historical sources and facts to actually having legit histriography, I don’t understand how anyone could take the Shee’ah religion seriously.
Check al-Kaafi. Check all their [...]
Response to a young believer on the difference between Sunni and Shi’a.
At the death of Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, the majority of the Sahaabah radiyallaahu ‘anhum supported Abu Bakr as the first khalif. A minority supported ‘Alee, though ‘Alee rejected that group as was mentioned in many different hadeeth.
The differences in actual religious belief didn’t arise until later, due to the addition of forged and [...]
Response to a young Christian on the meaning of “Raafidah”.
The raafidah are the Shee’ah (sometimes spelled Shi’a), a sect that branched off from Islaam some centuries ago.
In English, the word means rejector. This is because they rejected one of their own leaders when he refused to curse the Companions of Muhammad.
That is one of their distinguishing characteristics; unlike the traditional view of Muslims which [...]
“Why do the Shee’ah accept marriage with intention for divorce?”
For the life of me I cannot fathom why, but it’s quite depressing and sad actually.
Like many of the mistaken ideas spread in Shi’ism, the fact that this is incorrect is obvious. However, I see the Shee’ah get more heated about this than almost any other issue. I suppose it infuriates them that detractors would [...]
“What is it about Shee’ah beliefs that you oppose?”
There’s a lot of differences. The Shee’ah tend to commit shirk with their twelve imaams, claiming they have knowledge of the unseen and can choose when they live and die. Anyway, their belief in imaamah has no basis in the Qur’aan to begin with.
They also curse all of the Sahaabah radiyallaahu ‘anhum except for a [...]
Response to a Raafidee on leaving out personal attacks.
I will never, ever accept the fundamental beliefs of the Shee’ah. Six years ago, I was still an atheist and when I began considering Islaam I examined the books of both groups. The Sunnis are historically and factually the correct group and alhamdu lillaah I accepted the correct practice of Islaam.
However, as has been said [...]
“Can we celebrate/invent any other Eid than Two Eids?”
Q:
Likewise Shias and Barelvis celebrate some other Eids and try to prove them right. Where as Authentic Hadiths say something else.:
“Allâh has given you better than those Eids (feasts): the ‘Eid-ul-Adh-haa (Feast of Sacrificing), and ‘Eid-ul-Fitr (feast of Breaking the fast).” [Sunan An-Nasaaee: English translation: (vol. 2, p.333, no. 1559), Sunan Abu Dauwud: English translation: [...]
Answer to a young believer about the prayer of the Shee’ah.
The sad reality is that cursing the Sahaabah radiyallaahu ‘anhum is part of the ‘aqeedah, or fundamental beliefs, of the Shee’ah. This is the reality. You can find this in their own books (though I wouldn’t recommend any Muslim look into their books).
I remember back when I was still an atheist and learning about Islaam, [...]
